Board index Music Software Logic Pro. How to use a midi controller knob as jog wheel Topic is solved. Key command assignments won't cut it, as it doesn't seem nuanced enough to recognise that I'm moving the controller back or forward, so I get some glitchy and strange behaviour trying it that way.
I've got a nice rotary endless knob and just want logic to recognise that as a jogwheel. Must be possible, right? David Nahmani Site Admin. Make sure the window is in "Expert View. It's a good start though One more thing Is it possible to do something similar to emulate scrolling up or down with the mouse while hovering over a plugin?
I'd love to be able to assign that to a knob, for instant 'adjust current parameter' knobbing. Re: How to use a midi controller knob as jog wheel Sat Jul 18, pm Unless you have an actual shuttle wheel as a controller, then the playhead is not supposed to stop when you stop moving the controller.
Depending on the controller value you send, it's supposed to go faster or slower, in one direction or another. To make the playhead stop, you need to bring the controller knob back to center so it sends the value Any value below that makes the playhead go backward, any value above makes the playhead move forward. On an actual shuttle wheel, letting go of the wheel automatically brings it back to its center position so it sends value 64 to Logic and the playhead stops.
If you don't have an actual shuttle wheel then you could try using the pitch bend wheel on your keyboard, which behaves much like a shuttle wheel.
